What makes the 1932 Ford the world’s favorite hot rod? Noted designer and builder Chip Foose breaks it down for us.

 

 

Among the gearheads of the English-speaking world, Chip Foose hardly requires an introduction. The famed builder and designer has won every hot rod award there is, and also starred in his own long-running hit TV show, Overhaulin.’  Meanwhile, the 1932 Ford requires no introduction either. The Deuce, as it shall forever be known, helped to give birth to the hot rod movement and remains one of the favorite body styles among hot rod builders to this day. Naturally, here at Mac’s Motor City Garage we’re big admirers of the ’32 Ford as well, as demonstrated by our numerous features on the subject. The good people at Hagerty—you know them for their collector car insurance, their beautiful magazine Hagerty, and their awesome time-lapse video engine rebuilds, among other things—posed the question to Mr. Foose.
